This site is the freelance practice of Neel Shah, operating as recreationalcoder LLC. The short version: I do not sell your data, I do not run ads, and I collect as little as I can get away with while still understanding how the site is doing.
Analytics. In production this site loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-J8ZHLHN2EB). Google sets a cookie that gives you an anonymous identifier and reports things like which pages you visited, roughly where you visited from, what device you used, and how long you stayed. Google may also use that data per its own privacy policy.
Contact info you send me. If you email shahman@recreationalcoder.dev, call, or text the numbers in the footer, your name, contact info, and whatever you wrote ends up in my inbox or phone. I'll only use it to respond to you and to track an engagement we agree to.
Server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard request logs (IP, timestamp, URL, user agent) for short windows for security and debugging. I don't inspect those logs unless something looks broken.
The only cookie set is the Google Analytics one described above, and only in production. You can block it in your browser, use a privacy extension, or use a browser like Firefox / Safari / Brave that blocks third-party trackers by default. The site works fine without it.
If you live somewhere with privacy laws like the GDPR, CCPA, or similar, you can ask me what I have on you, ask me to delete it, or ask me to stop using it. Email shahman@recreationalcoder.dev and I'll handle it manually. Since the site collects so little, this is usually a quick conversation.
If this policy changes meaningfully, the "last updated" date at the top of the page changes too. Major changes will also get a note on the homepage for a couple of weeks. There's no automated notification, since there is no list to notify.
Questions about any of this: shahman@recreationalcoder.dev.
